Youth
Asilomar Youth Camp is always the highlight of the year for children
from pre-school through college age youth. Typical summer camp
activities are swimming, arts and crafts, team sports (including
the annual Butterfly Relay Race and the Community Celebration
Night), skits, singing and folk/pop dancing. A.R.E. Asilomar Camp
offers more than most summer camps. In small groups, campers learn
to interpret their dreams, explore different ways to meditate,
give and receive a foot massage, attempt intuition games, study
holistic health care and nature awareness, or just share time
each day with an older or younger buddy on the beach. Park Rangers
are available to guide the children on nature walks and to help
them learn the values of preserving their environment.
The campers are housed with others of the same age in small groups
of eight to twelve persons, under the care and guidance of adult
counseling teams. (Campers spend family time from 4:00 to 6:00
p.m. each day with their parents.) Counselors are chosen according
their ability to integrate the concepts contained in the Edgar
Cayce readings and a genuine desire to share with children what
has been of help in their own lives. Join us and find out why
kids consider Asilomar the highlight of their year, where they
can be loved for who they are and have the opportunity to "just
be myself." Children who attend Asilomar retain a lifetime
of memories of fun and friendship.
A youth camp for high school through college age is also a part
of the November Asilomar Conference.
Newcomers are always welcome at Asilomar and other youth activities
during the year. For details, contact Laura Moe, Youth Activities
Director, at 88 Santa Maria Dr., Novato, Ca. 94947, 415/893-9939,
